Changing Means of Transportation
JumpStart accepts the donation of reliable vehicles, providing tax deductible receipts to the donors, and transfers the inspected and/or repaired auto to an income eligible family or individual that needs transportation for employment or medical care.  The total cost of the vehicle to the recipient is the title transfer fee, plus a maximum of $500 in actual repair expense to insure reliability.

Who Benefits from JumpStart?

YOU!  Community members or businesses that donate a vehicle may be able to receive an income tax deduction based on its “blue book” value.  PLUS, you can be assured that a low-income family in this community will utilize your donated vehicle!  Please keep in mind that all vehicles must pass a diagnostic check and be able to be repaired for a reasonable cost to be accepted by JumpStart.

And Most Importantly:

Real people!  Those who qualify also benefit by receiving a donated vehicle at the cost of repairs and title transfer.  Having reliable transportation allows families to maintain their employment and, thus, increases their likelihood to become or remain self-sufficient. Qualifications for Recipients are they must be of low income; live in the Spring City/Phoenixville area of Chester County, Pennsylvania; be referred by a JumpStart cooperative member; demonstrate need for vehicle such as:  loss of employment, lack of access to employment, access to specialized medical care, etc.; and show the ability to secure and maintain car insurance.
